GPS Buying Guide

This is the beginnings of some notes on things to look for when shopping for a motorcycle GPS

Things to Look For

Antenna -

  • Is there an external antenna connector?

Map Data -

  • Who supplied the map data?
  • How old is it?

Upgradability. -

  • Can the unit's firmware be upgraded in the field?
  • What will the manufacturer do if there's a bug in the firmware?
